2011 in review

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 2,500 times in 2011. If it were a cable car, it would take about 42 trips to carry that many people.

Second Hand Uniform Shop

Now that Wren Academy is growing, there is more and more second hand uniform available to pass on, so this term we are starting a shop for you to donate your unwanted items.

This recycling scheme will allow parents to buy good quality Wren-branded uniform at lower prices, and saves waste when the children outgrow their clothes.

All the proceeds will go to the Friends of Wren Academy whose fund-raising throughout the year is used to support the school. We have contributed to the playground gazebo for example, and are currently raising funds for a second school minibus.

The following items of uniform are welcome – blazers, kilts, jumpers, polo shirts and PE shirts; and, for sales of blazers or kilts, it will be possible to arrange for a proportion of the money to be passed back to you after your item has been sold (simply tick the relevant box on the tear-off sheet below when you hand it in with your donated items).

Repayment of £10 for a blazer in excellent condition

Repayment of £8 for a kilt

Please donate all good quality items, either with the logo on, or the grey kilts in good condition, to the Academy Reception, marked for the attention of the Friends of Wren Academy.

We will sort these, and have the shop available at the Friends of Wren Academy social events throughout the year, including the Art and Craft Fair on Sunday 27 November.

For more information please contact Jo Hayward, on johannahayward@hotmail.com
